Why the city ditched informal talk about replacing fireworks with a drone display
Plans to replace Lake Worth Beach’s Fourth of July fireworks display with an electronic drone show have fizzled out for now.
Last year, city officials informally broached the idea of a drone display as an animal-friendly and environmentally-sensitive alternative to the loud bang-and-boom of traditional fireworks.
“I think they are beautiful and quiet and would be innovative and another forward-thinking thing for us,’’ Mayor Betty Resch said at the time.
But the idea apparently didn’t go anywhere. The reason?
